Barcelona overtakes Real Madrid in pursuit of Rodri
Summary

Barcelona has reportedly started negotiations with Rodri's representatives as they look to sign the Manchester City midfielder. Real Madrid had been seen as favorites to acquire Rodri after agreeing personal terms with him. However, reports indicate that Real Madrid's chances have diminished significantly. Manager Jose Mourinho prioritizes a defensive midfielder, making a potential loss to Barcelona particularly painful for the club. If discussions with Manchester City progress, Barcelona could quickly finalize a deal for Rodri.
