Barcelona registers Brian Farinas to first-team squad without senior debut

Summary

Barcelona has officially registered midfielder Brian Farinas to the senior squad for the 2026/27 LaLiga season. The club assigned Farinas the No. 4 jersey, which became available following the loan departure of Ronald Araujo. This promotion is notable as Farinas has not yet appeared in an official competitive match for the first team. Head coach Hansi Flick intervened to prevent a potential transfer to Girona this summer, opting instead to retain the player after assessing his performance during pre-season. Although he has been named to the matchday squad for all three league fixtures, he remains available for his competitive debut under Flick.
