Barcelona targets Arsenal's Piero Hincapie ahead of January transfer window
Summary

Barcelona is actively seeking a new defender due to an ongoing injury crisis impacting players like Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde. Piero Hincapie of Arsenal has emerged as a leading target, having seen limited action this season with only 250 minutes played. The club's sporting director, Deco, has reportedly contacted Hincapie's representatives to discuss a potential move. However, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta is expected to resist any efforts to let the defender go, valuing his contributions for the remainder of the season. Hincapie's versatility and left-footed play could be beneficial for Barcelona, especially with Alejandro Balde's future uncertain.
