Bayley prepares for return to WWE Raw television this week

Bayley hasn't been on WWE programming since late July. It was rumored that her contract was ending before reports surfaced that she re-signed.

The rumor mill has been busy churning out tidbit after tidbit on what’s been going on behind-the-scenes with Bayley and WWE. It hasn’t exactly been clear until recently what she would be doing in the near future, be it re-signing with the company or bailing to head for AEW and a reunion with her bestie Mercedes Mone. Now we know for certain. That’s because Bayley made her return to television on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Alabama, showing up just in time to cost Lyra Valkyria a Money in the Bank qualifying match. BAYLEY IS HERE!!! 😱@itsBayleyWWE pic.twitter.com/lCYgu9RnG1 — WWE (@WWE) September 8, 2026 We haven’t seen her on television dating back to Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden in New York, where she was, as my man Sean put it, beaten and then beaten up by Valkyria, though she did work some house shows. The expectation was always that if we saw her again in WWE, it would mean she’s back with the company, likely for good. She signed with WWE all the way back in 2012. She’s 37-years-old but sure looks to me like she’s got plenty left in the tank. Happy she’s back?

In addition to well wishes, I bring you a rumor for Raw tonight (Mon., Sept. 7) in Birmingham, Alabama’s Legacy Arena. The rumor covers something we here on the wrestle web have been discussing for months: WWE Grand Slam champion Bayley. The 37-year-old star’s current WWE contract expires at the end of this year, and after word of that got out she and bestie Mercedes Moné had fun teasing Bayley’s possible jump to AEW for a few weeks. But last week we heard WWE Creative was working on plans for Bayley’s return, and that was followed by a report she’d recently inked a deal to remain with WWE — possibly in an expanded role. And by now you should have put it together, the SPOILER for tonight is that Bayley “is expected to return to WWE Raw this week”. That’s from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, for now behind their Elite paywall. No word on what Bayley will be doing tonight in Birmingham, at least as of early afternoon Eastern time. Other than a few house show appearances, the last time WWE fans saw Bayley she was being beaten and then beaten up by Lyra Valkyria during July’s Saturday Night’s Main Event from Madison Square Garden. Share your excitement and/or fantasy booking in the comments below, Cagesiders. * Not sure if you would classify yourself that way, but in my book roughly 99.99% of us are comrades. And my well wishes for Sept. 7, 2026 go out to pretty much everyone who isn’t consciously plotting or doing anything designed to harm others.
