BCCI arranges separate accommodation for men's cricket team at Asian Games

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has organized separate hotel accommodation for the men's cricket team during the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. This decision stems from the men’s contingent exceeding the official limit for delegation size due to a larger support staff. Conversely, the women’s team is housed in the official Games facilities as their contingent fits within the permitted cap of 20 members. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia emphasized the importance of the Asian Games, stating that an Asian Games gold medal is as significant as any title. The men's quarter-finals begin on September 28, while the women's team started their campaign with a match against Japan on September 18.
