Bethune-Cookman hosts Stetson for first football meeting in school history

Bethune-Cookman and Stetson meet on the football field for the first time Saturday at Daytona Stadium. The two FCS programs are located 21 miles apart in Volusia County but have never played a game against each other despite a long-standing series in baseball. Bethune-Cookman enters the contest looking for a baseline performance following a 73-6 loss to UCF in their season opener. Stetson, coached by Mike Jasper, travels to Daytona Beach after a 45-10 win against Webber International last week. The game marks the first time a Pioneer Football League program has played a Southwestern Athletic Conference team. Bethune-Cookman head coach Raymond Woodie Jr. plans to use the game to evaluate his roster, including the starting quarterback battle between Tyler Jefferson and Amari Jones.
