Bethune-Cookman has named Tyler Jefferson its starting quarterback for the 2026 season, as announced on August 28. Jefferson, a redshirt junior, joins from Florida A&M University after previously competing at Central Michigan. He secured the starting position over returning redshirt senior Amari Jones. In his previous seasons, Jefferson made three starts for Central Michigan, accumulating 286 passing yards and 233 rushing yards in 2024. His first game in the starting role will be against UCF on September 3.
