Bhuvneshwar Kumar aims for 2027 ODI World Cup squad selection

Summary

Bhuvneshwar Kumar's stellar performance in IPL 2026 has re-ignited discussions about his inclusion in India's 2027 ODI World Cup squad. The veteran pacer took 28 wickets for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, falling just short of the Purple Cap. His successful IPL campaign, featuring two wickets in the final, has led to strong endorsements from notable players like Ravichandran Ashwin and Dinesh Karthik. Despite the calls for his inclusion, concerns about selecting a 35-year-old with no ODI play since January 2022 remain. As India evaluates options for the World Cup in seam-friendly conditions, Kumar's experience could be an asset.
