The Buffalo Bills are moving Javon Solomon to a stand-up outside linebacker position for the upcoming season. Solomon, who joined the team as a fifth-round draft pick in 2024, previously played as an edge rusher in the team's 4-2-5 scheme. Coach Joe Brady noted the new role allows Solomon to drop into coverage while continuing to rush the quarterback. Solomon remains on the 53-man roster following a crowded competition during training camp. He earned his spot partially due to his contributions on special teams, where he logged 278 snaps and 10 tackles last season. Solomon is expected to provide depth and flexibility within a linebacker unit that added several players during the offseason.
