Blake Lawrie signs three-year contract with English side York Knights

St George Illawarra Dragons forward Blake Lawrie has signed a three-year contract to join the York Knights in the English Super League starting in 2027. The move follows the confirmation that the 29-year-old would not have his contract renewed by the Dragons as part of a significant roster overhaul. Lawrie, a Dapto Canaries junior who debuted for the club in 2017, will depart with 171 NRL appearances to his credit. He is expected to make his final start for the Dragons this weekend. His departure coincides with a wider transition at St George Illawarra, which includes the release of several other veteran players and the recruitment of six new arrivals for the 2027 season. Cameron McInnes is also set to join the York Knights from the Cronulla Sharks next year.
