The Toronto Blue Jays are preparing for a series against the Philadelphia Phillies, beginning Monday. Prior to the matchup, the team has designated Yariel Rodriguez for assignment and reinstated RHP Tommy Nance from the 15-day injured list. Rodriguez struggled this season with a 7.71 ERA in 9.1 innings and 10 appearances. After signing a five-year, $33 million contract, he held a much better 3.08 ERA last season over 73 innings, leaving potential for future contributions if he can return to form.
