Borussia Mönchengladbach parts ways with head coach Eugen Polanski

Borussia Mönchengladbach dismissed head coach Eugen Polanski on September 13 following a winless start to the Bundesliga season. The club has also relieved assistant coach Tobias Trulsen of his duties effective immediately. The decision follows a three-game losing streak that saw the team outscored 12-3, culminating in a 5-0 loss to SC Freiburg. Head of Sports Rouven Schröder stated the internal review indicated a change was necessary to address the poor performance despite a positive pre-season. Jan-Moritz Lichte will oversee the squad on an interim basis, supported by assistant coach Markus Gellhaus. Polanski acknowledged the team failed to meet its objectives after the club implemented structural changes during the off-season.
