The Frederick Keys opened their South Atlantic North Division Series with a 13-1 victory over the Greensboro Grasshoppers, anchored by a strong pitching performance from Boston Bateman. The offense broke the game open with a nine-run eighth inning, supported by Ty Head and Lean. In other minor league action, the Chesapeake Baysox opened their final series of the season with an 11-3 win against the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Vance Honeycutt recorded his first professional multi-homer game, while Ethan Anderson contributed a three-run home run. Elsewhere, the Norfolk Tides fell 11-10 to the Memphis Redbirds in a 10-inning contest. Despite five home runs from the Norfolk lineup, including two from Creed Willems and Ryan Noda, the Tides lost on a walk-off hit after a ninth-inning save attempt failed.
