Mariners consider coaching candidates from AL Central teams

The Seattle Mariners are evaluating coaching candidates from the AL Central, focusing on names that might not be on the mainstream radar. Jason Kanzler and Joe Espada are reportedly leading candidates for the managerial role, while potential under-the-radar options include Patrick Leyland, currently managing Double-A Birmingham Barons, and Kevin Howard, assistant director of player development for the Royals. Leyland, son of Jim Leland, has emphasized the importance of relating to players based on his own experiences. The Mariners must make a decision soon, as they narrow down their managerial search amidst ongoing discussions.
