Brady Pretzlaff resumes starting role for Michigan State football defense

Third-year sophomore linebacker Brady Pretzlaff returned to the Michigan State starting lineup following a season-ending shoulder injury sustained last September. Pretzlaff recorded five tackles and played 44 snaps during the Spartans' 30-20 victory over Toledo on September 4. The Gaylord, Michigan, native originally committed to play for defensive coordinator Joe Rossi while at Minnesota before following the coach to East Lansing. Pretzlaff's recovery involved work with the Michigan State medical and training staff throughout the past year. He is set to make his second start of the season when the Spartans host Eastern Michigan this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Head coach Jonathan Smith indicated that the linebacker's development is ongoing as he continues to work under a defensive staff that includes Max Bullough and Pat Fitzgerald.
