Brayan Rocchio leads Guardians to victory over Tigers in game one

The Cleveland Guardians defeated the Detroit Tigers 7-6 in the first game of a doubleheader on September 4. The Guardians overcame a 6-1 deficit, sparked by a game-tying grand slam from Brayan Rocchio in the fourth inning. Rocchio finished the contest with five RBI and hit a walk-off home run to begin the ninth inning. Logan Allen started on the mound for the Guardians before the bullpen, consisting of Slade Cecconi, Craig Yoho, Erik Sabrowski, and Cade Smith, held the Tigers scoreless to allow the comeback. While Steven Kwan did not record a hit, teammates Chase DeLauter, Angel Genao, and Travis Bazzana contributed multiple hits. The teams are scheduled to play the second game of the doubleheader at 7:45 PM ET, with Foster Griffin expected to start for the Guardians.
