Brewers prospect Andrew Fischer hits 47th minor league home run

Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Andrew Fischer recorded his 47th home run of the minor league season on Thursday. This milestone surpasses the 46 home runs hit by Ryan Howard in 2004, marking the most home runs by a minor league player since 1968. Fischer, who has split time between High-A and Double-A levels, has 27 of those home runs with the Biloxi Shuckers. His current total places him fifth on the all-time single-season minor league list since 1963. With four games remaining in the regular season for the Shuckers, Fischer has the opportunity to add to his record-breaking season. The organization has not yet announced plans regarding a potential promotion to Triple-A or a major league call-up.
