Brian Gutekunst denies Packers trade interest in Josh Sweat

Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst publicly rejected reports of trade discussions involving Arizona Cardinals edge rusher Josh Sweat. Speaking on Tuesday, Gutekunst stated that no members of the Green Bay organization have held conversations with the Cardinals regarding a potential deal for the veteran player. The rumors emerged following reports linking the two teams due to Sweat’s previous work with Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon. Green Bay currently relies on a four-man rotation at edge rusher that includes Lukas Van Ness, Barryn Sorrell, Brenton Cox Jr., and Dani Dennis-Sutton. The team also holds Arron Mosby and Nyjalik Kelly on the practice squad. Sweat remains under contract with the Cardinals through the 2028 season.
