Brody Kipka earns St. Cloud Times athlete of the week honors

Foley senior running back Brody Kipka received St. Cloud Times Athlete of the Week recognition for the period of Aug. 31 through Sept. 8. Kipka secured 71.8% of the public vote following a performance against Glencoe Silver Lake that included 212 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He previously earned the publication's pre-season football player of the year poll designation. Cathedral's midfielder finished in second place with 21.6% of the vote after recording two goals and an assist against Pelican Rapids. Other nominees included distance runner Katelyn Waldoch, setter Lucy Schulte, and running back Marqwon Brown. Kipka and the Foley football team are scheduled to compete against Pierz at 7 p.m. on Sept. 11.
