Bucks draft pick Malique Lewis signs with Cairns Taipans in NBL

Malique Lewis, the Milwaukee Bucks' second-round draft pick, signed a two-year deal with the Cairns Taipans of the Australian National Basketball League for the 2026-27 season. The Bucks acquired Lewis' rights in a three-team trade in June, sending cash to the Orlando Magic. Lewis spent the previous season with the South East Melbourne Phoenix, averaging 7.1 points and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 38.7% from three-point range. The Bucks will retain his draft rights, with the second year of the contract being a player option. This marks the second consecutive year the Bucks have opted to send a second-round pick overseas.
