The Buffalo Sabres face the Detroit Red Wings four times during the 2026-27 NHL regular season. Following a successful campaign where the Sabres finished first in the Atlantic Division, the club aims to build on recent momentum against a Detroit roster currently in transition. The Red Wings have added players including Viktor Arvidsson, Keegan Kolesar, and Daniil Tarasov while facing internal uncertainty regarding their general manager position and the future of captain Dylan Larkin. Buffalo recorded a 2-1-0 record against Detroit last season. The upcoming matchups are scheduled for December 28, February 21, March 12, and April 10, with the final game held in Buffalo. Success against Detroit is viewed as a significant factor for the Sabres as they look to secure a playoff position or home-ice advantage for the postseason.
