Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo calls for longer NRL rule change lead times

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo expressed frustration regarding the NRL’s decision to trial a new kick-off rule with limited notice. The Bulldogs are scheduled to implement the trial during their game against the Brisbane Broncos at Accor Stadium this Thursday. The regulation allows teams to decide whether to kick off or receive after conceding a try, even before the conversion attempt. The NRL previously tested the change in a match between the Brisbane Broncos and the Melbourne Storm. Ciraldo stated that coaching staffs need more time to adjust to such adjustments during the off-season rather than facing mid-season implementation. The rule will also be trialled in the upcoming match between the Dragons and the Eels on Sunday. These tests are part of an effort by the NRL to gather data before finalizing the rule for future seasons.
