Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake community supports injured athlete Austin Mason

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake athletic community is rallying to support sophomore Austin Mason, who suffered a skull fracture and brain bleeds following a golf cart accident last month. Mason, a multi-sport athlete who competes in both football and wrestling, remains in recovery at home. The school's varsity football team has identified him as a primary inspiration for the current season, with teammates and coaching staff maintaining close contact as he navigates his return to school. A GoFundMe campaign created by his father, Mike Mason, has reached approximately $21,000 in donations. The school’s booster club is also developing additional initiatives to assist the family with medical costs. While Mason remains sidelined and continues his recovery in a neck brace, teammates have offered him ongoing support and have welcomed him to remain involved with the team on the sidelines as his health permits.
