Cam Schlittler shines in Yankees' win over Rays with strong performance

Cam Schlittler pitched eight innings of one-run ball against the Tampa Bay Rays on July 6, leading the New York Yankees to just their second win in the last ten games. After a rough outing on June 30 where he allowed six earned runs, Schlittler focused on proving his skill and competitiveness, stating the start was 'personal.' With an American League-best 2.01 ERA and 131 strikeouts, Schlittler is positioned well in the Cy Young Award race and has been a crucial player for the Yankees amid injuries to key pitchers. The Yankees look to build momentum from this victory as the season progresses.
