FootballCannon Falls overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Rochester Lourdes 22-19 at John Burch Park on Friday. Trailing 17-8 at intermission, the Bombers outscored the Eagles 16-2 during the second half to secure the win. Griffin Peterson provided a 23-yard touchdown run in the first half and added a 1-yard scoring run early in the third quarter. Trey Schoenfelder put Cannon Falls ahead for good with a 30-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Rochester Lourdes added a late safety, but the team failed to move into field-goal range on its final drive. The game featured a matchup between the Eagles' power option offense and the Bombers' Power Triple-T system. Cannon Falls next travels to play at Chatfield, while Rochester Lourdes returns home to host Dover-Eyota on Sept. 17.
