Carolina Panthers finalize 53-man roster after second round of player cuts

The Carolina Panthers completed their roster reduction to the required 53-man limit on Sunday following a final wave of transactions. The team released or waived 28 players, including quarterback Kyle Trask, safety Isaiah Simmons, and several wide receivers and defensive linemen. Additionally, the organization moved multiple players to the injured reserve or physically unable to perform lists to manage the roster heading into the upcoming season. Running back Trevor Etienne and inside linebacker Bam Martin-Scott were placed on injured reserve with eligibility to return after four weeks. Meanwhile, tackle Ikem Ekwonu and defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton were moved to the injured reserve/physically unable to perform list. Right tackle Taylor Moton was also placed on the reserve/non-football illness list as part of the team's final roster adjustments.
