Carter Jensen's late hits lead Royals past Padres in extra innings

Carter Jensen's two-run single capped a four-run rally in the 10th inning, securing a 7-6 win for the Kansas City Royals over the San Diego Padres on July 17, 2026. The Royals ended a five-game losing streak, with Lane Thomas hitting a homer in the second inning. The Padres, despite taking a 6-3 lead in the 10th with hits from Miguel Andujar, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Xander Bogaerts, could not hold off Kansas City's response. Jensen's hit ended the game after the Royals loaded the bases, marking his first career game-ending hit. The Royals aimed for consecutive wins with Griffin Canning slated to pitch against Royal's yet-to-be-announced starter on July 18.
