Carver Willis earns starting left guard spot for San Francisco 49ers

Former Washington Huskies offensive lineman Carver Willis secured a place on the San Francisco 49ers' 53-man roster for the upcoming NFL season. The rookie tackle earned the starting left guard position following final cutdowns, resulting in the release of veteran Robert Jones. Willis overcame a slow start to the preseason, which was hindered by a concussion, to impress head coach Kyle Shanahan during practice and game action. He joins cornerback Ephesians Prysock as one of two members of the 2025 Washington roster to make the team.
