Celtic target goalkeeper Sam Johnstone after Wolves manager confirms departure

Celtic are pursuing Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Sam Johnstone following comments from manager Cesar Peixoto. Peixoto stated that Johnstone is no longer part of the team's future plans, despite the player continuing to train with the squad. The Scottish champions have been searching for a new goalkeeper following the retirement of Kasper Schmeichel, who had been brought in as a replacement for Joe Hart. While Celtic initially considered younger alternatives like Balazs Toth and Leo Cavallius, the club may now look to add an experienced veteran to provide stability. Viljami Sinisalo currently holds the number one position for Celtic, with Ross Doohan serving as the only other senior option available in the squad.
