Celtics discuss trade for 3-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis before NBA Draft

The Boston Celtics engaged in at least one phone call regarding a trade for Domantas Sabonis ahead of the 2026 NBA Draft. ESPN's Anthony Slater reports that conversations involved the Sacramento Kings, although the seriousness of the discussions remains unclear. Other teams, including the Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons, were also in pursuit of Sabonis. The 30-year-old forward has two years left on his contract, making over $45 million in 2026-27. Despite injury limiting him to 19 games last season, Sabonis previously averaged 19.1 points and 12.3 rebounds, earning All-Star recognition in 2022-23.
