Chaz Chambliss adds offensive duties to Minnesota Vikings linebacker role

Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chaz Chambliss is expanding his workload in his second NFL season by taking on offensive responsibilities. While primarily an outside linebacker, the former Georgia player saw snaps at fullback during the preseason, including a four-yard reception that resulted in a first down. Coach Kevin O'Connell noted that the team created the role to leverage Chambliss' versatility and standing within the locker room. To accommodate the change, Chambliss now attends both offensive and defensive meetings and has switched his jersey number to 32. He earned a spot on the Vikings' 53-man roster following these preseason efforts. He will primarily play defense but remains available for short-yardage offensive situations throughout the regular season.
