Chelsea Green's mother confronts Michael Hayes after controversial comments

Image from Chelsea Green’s Instagram Chelsea Green recently added another chapter to the drama starring her and WWE producer Michael Hayes, and this time it involves her mother. According to the WWE Women’s Champion, her mom once confronted Hayes and dropped an F-bomb. The heat between Green and Hayes began after Netflix aired an episode of WWE Unreal that featured his take suggesting she was not a top-level star of the female roster. “Chelsea is so entertaining. But she is not built for, nor should she be in the Charlotte Flair role or Tiffany Stratton. Because Chelsea’s job is to help make those people,” Hayes told the cameras. While Hayes did apologize for the comments, Green was vocal about her displeasure with the situation. On SiriusXM’s Reality Checked, she complained about a “ceiling” being put on her. Of course, Green busted through that ceiling by winning a 5-way ladder match at SummerSlam to become the WWE Women’s Champion. She also took the extra step of dedicating her win to Hayes while speaking during a post-SummerSlam interview. Hayes did seem to take it all in stride, though, and later posed for a photo with Green and her new title. Before they seemingly made peace, Green indicated her mother expressed her anger about Hayes’ evaluation with the man himself. The story first came up on a recent episode of her husband Matt Cardona’s Major Wrestling Figure Podcast when he told it to his co-hosts Mark Sterling and Brian Myers. Chelsea later popped up on the same episode and re-told the anecdote. Green said: “My mom went up to Michael Hayes and said, ‘Do you know who I am? I’m Chelsea’s mom, and I wanted to tell you something.’ And he said, ‘Oh yeah? What did you want to tell me?’ She said, ‘F**k you,’ and that’s it. Nothing else.” She continued: “And then Michael Hayes went back to the producers’ office and told every single person there, so now, like, [WWE executive] Bruce Prichard is asking me…” “It’s probably got you way more over with the office,” Myers said. “I love it,” Cardona chimed in. “I’ve been fired for way less,” Green added before walking offscreen. “Oh, that’s a social clip,” Cardona said.
