Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy emerges as breakout candidate for 2026 season

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy has been named a breakout candidate for the upcoming NFL season by Jesse Newell of The Athletic. Following a challenging year marked by injuries, including a shoulder injury sustained in the season opener, Worthy is looking to make a significant impact. With the potential for a larger role due to the absence of teammate Rashee Rice, who recently completed a jail sentence, Worthy has displayed chemistry with quarterback Patrick Mahomes. His performance this summer could determine his future, especially with veteran Travis Kelce possibly entering his final season with the Chiefs. Worthy is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery and aims to return to full strength.
