Chris Godwin Jr. and Emeka Egbuka share Octopus of the Year honors

Tampa Bay Buccaneers receivers Chris Godwin Jr. and Emeka Egbuka have been named co-winners of the 2025 Octopus of the Year award. The honor recognizes players who score a touchdown and subsequently catch the successful two-point conversion, accounting for eight consecutive points. Godwin achieved the feat in a Week 15 contest against the Atlanta Falcons, while Egbuka recorded his in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks. This mark represents the first time in the seven-year history of the award that two players have shared the recognition. Only three such plays occurred across the NFL during the 2025 season, with two of them coming from the Buccaneers' roster. The pair joins Vincent Jackson as the only Buccaneers players in franchise history to complete the specific scoring sequence.
