Byrd senior running back Christian Maxie set school and city records with 429 rushing yards during a 44-37 loss to Ouachita Parish on Thursday. Green Oaks routed Southwood 44-0, while St. Mary’s earned a 22-6 win over Vidalia in its opener under coach Jacob Carruth. Lincoln Prep also began its campaign with a 52-12 win against Delhi, highlighted by 258 total yards and five touchdowns from Jabari Levingston. The Stars and Stripes Border Classic is scheduled to continue Friday at Independence Stadium with games featuring Parkway against Dunham and Evangel against West Monroe.
