Ciatrick Fason serves as Mr. Two Bits for Florida's season opener

Former Florida running back Ciatrick Fason will participate as the celebrity Mr. Two Bits during the Gators' season opener against the FAU Owls this Saturday. The role tasks a notable alumnus or student with energizing the home crowd by leading the traditional cheer alongside the mascot, Albert the Alligator. Fason played for Florida from 2002 to 2004, tallying 1,783 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns before embarking on an NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings. This appearance marks the 14th year of the celebrity tradition, which originated following the retirement of George Edmondson in 2009. Fason, who currently coaches football at Neptune Beach Fletcher High, is the first individual to hold this title for the current season.
