Coco Gauff discusses improvements ahead of 2027 Australian Open

Coco Gauff is set to start her Asian swing at the China Open on September 30. Following a solid but title-less 2026 season, she identified her focus on being more aggressive in her shot selection and increasing her first-serve percentage as key areas for improvement. Gauff reached the semifinals in both Wimbledon and the US Open this year. Defending champion Amanda Anisimova, along with Alex Eala and Jessica Pegula, has withdrawn from the China Open due to injuries. Gauff expressed relief after the Grand Slam season and is aiming for a strong performance in China, where she has previously succeeded.
