College football season begins with week zero matchups across the country

The college football season officially opened with eight games this past Saturday. The NCAA recently introduced a rule change moving the official start of the football season to the Thursday 14 weeks before the first Saturday in December, allowing teams to play during the week leading up to Labor Day without needing a waiver beginning in 2027.
