Florida hosts Florida Atlantic to open the 2026 college football season

Florida plays Florida Atlantic on Saturday, September 5, at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to open the 2026 season. First-year head coach Jon Sumrall leads the Gators in his debut following a tenure at Tulane. The Gators return key players including running back Jadan Baugh, as well as defenders Myles Graham and Bryce Thornton. Florida Atlantic, coming off a 4-8 season, is led by quarterback Caden Veltkamp. The game is scheduled for a 7:45 p.m. E.T. kickoff and will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
