Colorado defeats Georgia Tech 14-13 in season opener

Colorado opened its 2026 season with a 14-13 victory over Georgia Tech. After trailing for most of the contest, Colorado orchestrated an eight-play, 75-yard drive late in the fourth quarter. Julian Lewis connected with Charlie Williams for a 20-yard touchdown pass with 37 seconds remaining to put the Buffaloes ahead. Georgia Tech attempted a response, but Boo Carter blocked a 45-yard field goal attempt as time expired. Colorado's defense held the Yellow Jackets without a touchdown for the entire game. The win marks a reversal for Colorado, which lost to Georgia Tech in last season's opener on a last-minute score.
