Colorado Rapids sign Israeli forward Sayed Abu Farkhi from Maccabi Tel Aviv

The Colorado Rapids have signed forward Sayed Abu Farkhi from Maccabi Tel Aviv. The 20-year-old Israeli international joins the club on a contract extending through the 2029-30 MLS season, with an option for the following year. The deal carries a reported $6 million transfer fee and designates the player for a U22 Initiative roster spot. During his tenure with the Israeli Premier League side, Abu Farkhi recorded 15 goals and three assists over 52 appearances. Club president Pádraig Smith and head coach Matt Wells both noted the player's work rate and goal-scoring ability as key factors in the acquisition. Abu Farkhi is the team's second signing of the summer, following the late July arrival of midfielder Youssef Maziz. The Rapids currently sit seventh in the Western Conference standings with 31 points.
