Colorado State names Hauss Hejny starting quarterback for Wyoming game

Colorado State head coach Jim Mora named Hauss Hejny as the starting quarterback for the Rams' season opener against Wyoming on September 5. Hejny, a transfer from Oklahoma State, won the position after competing against UConn transfer K’saan Farrar throughout the spring and preseason. Mora expressed confidence in the choice, citing Hejny’s athletic ability and skill set. The quarterback previously played at TCU and Oklahoma State, though his 2025 season was cut short by a broken foot suffered in the opener. Hejny brings limited collegiate experience to the role, having appeared in only five games across his previous stops. He is expected to lead the offense in the Border War rivalry game to begin the 2026 campaign.
