Commanders place Trey Amos and Jeremy McNichols on injured reserve

The Washington Commanders finalized their 53-man roster by placing cornerback Trey Amos and running back Jeremy McNichols on injured reserve. Defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. was moved to the physically unable to perform list as the team concluded its training camp roster cuts. Amos, who played 10 games as a rookie in 2025 before a broken fibula, suffered an ankle sprain during recent practices. The team opted for caution regarding his recovery. McNichols is sidelined with a quadriceps injury sustained during camp, though no surgery has been recommended for the running back. Both players are eligible to return after the fourth week of the season. Wise continues to rehab from a 2025 surgery following a quadriceps injury and remains eligible for activation at the team's discretion.
