Connor Norby faces Trevor Rogers as Rockies defeat Orioles in extra innings

Colorado Rockies infielder Connor Norby faced Baltimore Orioles pitcher Trevor Rogers for the first time on September 2 at Coors Field. The two were linked by a July 2024 trade that sent Norby from Baltimore to the Miami Marlins for Rogers, though an injury prevented a matchup between them last season. In their long-awaited meeting, Norby went hitless in three at-bats while Rogers struck out 11 over 6.2 innings. Despite Rogers exiting with a 3-2 lead, the Baltimore bullpen surrendered the advantage in the ninth inning. The Rockies eventually secured a 6-5 victory in the 11th inning following a two-run walkoff single by Brett Sullivan. Norby, acquired by Colorado from Miami in August, contributed a defensive play in the 11th inning and later scored the tying run to help force the finish.
