Corbin Burnes returns to Arizona Diamondbacks roster for Royals series

The Arizona Diamondbacks face the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium on September 8. Righthander Corbin Burnes makes his return to the mound for the Diamondbacks after being reinstated from the 60-day injured list. Burnes is recovering from right ulnar collateral ligament surgery and is expected to provide approximately four innings of work. The Diamondbacks currently occupy a Wild Card position and look to bolster their playoff standing during this series. The team plans to rely on a mix of bullpen arms, including Blake Walston, Kade Strowd, Derek Law, Justin Martinez, and Dennis Santana, to cover the remainder of the game. Arizona also made roster adjustments, including recalling Kade Strowd from Triple-A Reno and optioning Jose Cabrera to the same affiliate.
