WWE announcer Corey Graves revealed he has been training for a potential return to professional wrestling. During an appearance on The Mark Hole Show on September 9, Graves confirmed he maintains medical clearance to compete, a status he initially achieved several years ago. While he continues his duties with WWE, the announcer noted that he has been training consistently for the past several months. Graves identified AAA as a preferred destination for a possible comeback, citing the influence of his brother, Sam Adonis, who competes in the promotion. He also expressed that the change of pace offered by the Lucha Libre organization would be a welcome alternative to the regular travel schedule required by his current role. Graves stated he is open to the possibility of wrestling again, though he did not announce a formal agreement or return date.

"Corey Graves may gave stepped away from competition in 2014, but the WWE announcer has made it clear before that an in-ring return is not out of the question. Now Graves has gone a step further by sharing that he’s been training and could even turn up in one of the hottest promotions in wrestling. During an appearance on The Mark Hole Show on Wednesday (September 9), he indicated that not only is he medically cleared to wrestle again, but he has the itch. “I did go and get medically cleared several years back when it seemed like there was going to be an opportunity,” Graves said. “Obviously, plans change as things change in the industry. I got a little stagnant after that, but I’m proud to report that I’ve been back in the gym for the past several months just to see how I feel.” Graves then added some thoughts about where he might like to land if he does decide to lace up his wrestling boots again. “AAA might be fun for me to step foot into that,” he said, noting that his younger brother, Sam Adonis, has been successful in the WWE-owned Lucha Libre promotion. “Maybe I’ll follow in his footsteps,” Graves said. “That could be kind of fun. Never say never.” He also put over AAA in general, saying how the company provides a viable option to WWE. “Because as amazing as life within WWE can be, it’s a grind,” Graves said. “You know, every week — no matter who you are, no matter what you do — you go to the airport, you get to the next town. You go to the hotel, hope you can get some food, lather, rinse, repeat over and over, 52 weeks a year. “Arguably, right now, our schedule’s as busy as it’s ever been. So to have a change of scenery in a sense like AAA has been able to provide has been invaluable for a lot of the talent, and myself included.” What do you think, Cagesiders?
