Coventry set to earn World Cup fees from two squad players

Summary

Coventry City may receive substantial payouts due to two players participating in this summer's FIFA World Cup. Haji Wright will represent the United States, while Brandon Thomas-Asante has been called up by Ghana. According to Dr. Tom Bason, if both players compete for three weeks, Coventry could earn approximately £300,000 based on FIFA's compensation program for clubs releasing players for the tournament. FIFA compensates clubs with a fixed fee for each player, which remains consistent regardless of their team's progress in the tournament. Coventry City's financial benefits will depend on how far the players' national teams advance.
