The Dallas Cowboys established their 53-man roster on August 30 ahead of the 2026 season. The team also signed Emari Demercado to provide additional depth at the position. At the nickelback spot, the franchise is relying on Caleb Downs as the primary option, while Ameer Speed was retained to fill a special teams role. Despite his performance in the preseason, safety Julius Wood did not make the final cut, as the team chose to keep Alijah Clark and Markquese Bell for their contributions to special teams. Derion Kendrick and Reddy Steward were both signed to the practice squad after failing to secure spots on the active roster.
