Dan Mullen addresses UNLV crowd after Memphis defeat in season opener

UNLV head coach Dan Mullen asked for better crowd engagement from the Rebels fanbase following a 27-21 home loss to Memphis on Saturday. Mullen specifically requested that fans remain quiet while the offense is on the field and maintain noise levels while the defense is operating. Memphis secured the win after the teams traded scores throughout the second and third quarters. Jackson Arnold led the Rebels offense with 291 passing yards and two touchdowns on 25-of-37 passing, adding 54 rushing yards and one touchdown on the ground. Kayden McGee and Tavian McNair both recorded touchdown receptions in the effort. The loss marks a setback for UNLV after a successful 2025 campaign. The Rebels look to rebound on the road against the Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors on September 5.
