Former TCU safety Jacob Fields faces charge following locker room assault

Former TCU safety Jacob Fields turned himself in to Tarrant County police on Sunday following an aggravated assault charge involving a former teammate. The charge stems from an Aug. 13 altercation in the TCU locker room where Fields allegedly struck wide receiver Dozie Ezukanma. Ezukanma claimed the incident occurred after a disagreement during practice the previous day, resulting in him being knocked unconscious. Following the incident, TCU officials dismissed Fields from the football program for a violation of team rules. The university general manager reported the altercation to law enforcement on Aug. 14. Fields is expected to be released on bond after being held in a Fort Worth jail.
